Lois Jean (Mallory) Stowe, 77, of Sioux City, IA entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at her home.
Lois, the daughter of Charles Mallory and Hannah Cloud Elk, was born January 9, 1938 at Wagner, SD. She grew up near Marty, SD and attended Marty Mission Boarding School.
On September 21, 1965, Lois married James E. Stowe, Sr. in Luverne, MN. They later divorced.
In her early years, Lois worked various jobs and then she received her GED. She received her nurse’s aide certification and worked in the medical, restorative and nursing field until retiring at age 72.
Lois enjoyed cooking, traveling and arts and crafts. She was an avid Chicago sports fan who enjoyed watching the Cubs and Blackhawks. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her four children: daughter, Jessie Mallory of Sioux City, IA; three sons: Marlon Stowe of Sioux City, IA, Arnold Mallory of Kansas City, MO and James Stowe, Jr. of Norfolk, NE; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; special cousin, Norman Whiteshirt of Sioux Falls, SD; other relatives and many friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her father, Charles; her mother, Hannah; 7 brothers and sisters; and a great granddaughter, Clarice Debilzan.
