Roberta Lee Hoefling, daughter of Leo Lee and Dorothy Louise (Rath) Huisenga, was born January 31, 1947 in Carroll, Iowa. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 3, 2014 at her residence near Oto, Iowa at the age of 67.
Roberta was raised and educated in Odebolt, Iowa. She graduated from Odebolt High School in 1965. On June 6, 1965, Roberta was united in marriage to Donald Wayne Hoefling in Odebolt, Iowa. To this union three sons were born: Dale, Paul and Evan. After their marriage, Roberta and Don lived in Early then moved to a farm near Climbing Hill and returned to the Odebolt area to farm the family farm. For 20-25 years, Roberta worked at the packing plant in Denison until they bought their current farm near Oto.
Roberta enjoyed quilting, camping, and she learned to play the clavinova in recent years. Above all, she loved her family and was very giving to others. Roberta was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Smithland, Iowa and enjoyed singing in the choir.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Donald “Don” Hoefling of Oto, IA; her children and grandchildren: Dale and Carole Hoefling of Climbing Hill, IA and their children: Macey, Dalton and Garrett; Paul and Debra Hoefling of Oto, IA; and Evan Hoefling and Joni Perkins of Oto, IA and their children: Kayla, Kassity and Konner; five siblings: Roland and Pat Huisenga of Sibley, IA, Ramona and Ed Anderson of Odebolt, IA, Roger and Gloria Huisenga of Odebolt, IA, Robert Huisenga of Onawa, IA and Ruby and Bill Custer of Soldier, IA; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Dorothy Huisenga.
